Dragonflies
This is the first stage of their pre-school journey. Children are supported to develop their independence as the staff:child ratio increases as well as focusing on developing their learning as they engage in meaningful play. Opportunities to develop their creativity and critical thinking are in abundance.
Developing skills in Dragonflies
Children move to the Dragonflies room after they turn 3. Children's self-care skills are embedded to enable them to become independent in this area. Thoughtful practitioners use in the moment planning to develop the children's skills and learning as well as following the child's interests. They are well prepared to move to the Honeybees room for the second stage of their pre-school journey.
Outdoor play
The Dragonflies room as an outdoor learning environment directly accessed from the indoor learning environment providing free-flow between the two areas. The outdoor area includes a seating area, sandpit and play dough station. They also have use of the large climbing frame and large loose parts construction.
